Pink wigs from Pink in the Rink Night

01/30/2010 1:42 PM - Chris Etheridge
Peoria Rivermen beat writer for the Peoria Jornal Star Dave Eminian sent over a video from the pre-game warm ups last night.  That's Winger Pete MacArthur among others in the pink wig.

Game Notes for 1/30/2010

01/29/2010 11:13 PM - Chris Etheridge
Whew.  What a game tonight.  The last two periods were pretty intense.  A big Thank You goes out to tonight's sponsors and everyone who helped with the Pink in the Rink Night, especially the ice crew who have worked their tails off since Wednesday to get the rink ready.  Also thanks to the IceHogs Booster Club for all of their support.  This was an incredible feel-good night.

I don't have much else to say, so here are tomorrow's game notes:

Back-to-back back-to-backs:
The Hogs play three sets of back-to-back games over their next six affairs.  The squad plays a home-and-home against Grand Rapids tonight and Wednesday, then travels to Lake Erie for two next weekend.  They finish off the slate with a home-and-home against Milwaukee on Feb. 12-13.  Of the next 11 games for Rockford, ten of them are back-to-back against the same opponent.

Scoring When It Matters: Center Jake Dowell has five goals on the season including three in the month of January.  The IceHogs team captain has been clutch of late.  All three goals this month have been the game winner.  Before January, Dowell had three game-winners in his first 19 professional goals.

Finding Their Names on the Naughty List: Rockford’s 41 penalty minutes on Friday was the highest since Dec. 6 against Manitoba when the team recorded 83 PIMs.  The Hogs had recorded 37 penalty minutes in the previous three games combined.

Going for the Clean Sweep:
The Hogs can post a perfect 4-0-0-0 record at Van Andel Arena in 2009-10 with a win tonight.  The squad’s only blemish so far this season against the Griffins is a 5-4 shootout loss on Jan. 2 at the Rockford MetroCentre.
