Rockford’s captain was scoreless in one game in second recall of 2008-09

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Friday that the National Hockey League club has reassigned center Tim Brent to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

He is expected to be available to play when the IceHogs take on San Antonio tonight at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.

In Brent’s second recall of the season, the center appeared in one game with the Blackhawks, logging 6:34 of ice time in Chicago's 3-2 shootout win over Carolina on Wednesday.  He has played two games with the Blackhawks in 2008-09, with 16:43 of ice time and two penalty minutes.  Rockford's captain has 18 career NHL games under his belt, including 15 with the Anaheim Ducks and one with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Brent was acquired by the Blackhawks on July 17, 2008 in exchange for defenseman Danny Richmond.  The Cambridge, Ont. native was drafted by Anaheim in the third round (#75 overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.   Brent currently ranks second on the IceHogs with 50 points in 51 games including 19 goals and 31 assists.
