Article By: Mike PeckThe Rockford IceHogs received outstanding goaltending in Week 7 of the 2010-11 American Hockey League regular season and finished the week with a 1-1-0-1 record in three road games. The goaltending combination of Hannu Toivonen and Alec Richards combined for a .956 save percentage and a 1.31 goals against average. After a five-game road swing, the IceHogs return home for two of three games on the Week 8 slate.

Hannu Toivonen Goaltender
Rockford’s puckstopper Hannu Toivonen turned away 67 of 69 shots faced during Week 7 of the 2010-11 AHL regular season and carried a record of 1-1-0-0. On Thursday night in Manitoba, Toivonen blocked all 29 Moose shots to lead Rockford to a 1-0 shutout. The next night at the MTS Centre Toivonen turned in a season-best 38 saves in Rockford’s 3-1 loss to the Moose and completed Week 7 with a .971 save percentage and a 1.02 goals against average.
Wednesday, Nov. 24 vs. Lake Erie Monsters: Puck drop is at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday nights are Taco Bell Dollar Days at the MetroCentre, which includes dollar hot dogs, beers, sodas and companion tickets. The first 2,500 fans (21 and older) will receive Stanley Cup bottle holders courtesy of Bud Light and WXRX.
Friday, Nov. 26 at Grand Rapids Griffins: Game time is slated for 6 p.m. The IceHogs return to the road to face-off against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday night. The game is the first of three at the Van Andel Arena for Rockford in 2010-11 and second of six meetings with the Griffins overall this season.
Saturday, Nov. 27 vs. Peoria Rivermen: The game begins at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs complete Week 8 when the Rivermen visit the Rockford MetroCentre for a second time this season. The first 2,500 fans to the game will receive a Jack Skille bobble head courtesy of Dental Dimensions and 23 WIFR.
Bud Light Hog Talk Is Back Tonight At Swilligan’s Pub:
Bud Light Hog Talk returns to Swilligan’s Pub tonight. Swillgan’s Pub is located in downtown Rockford at 200 North Church St. Fans can join Matt Prefontaine and Courtney King from 6-7 p.m. tonight as they chat with IceHogs players, coaches and front office members. This week’s guests include IceHogs wingers Brandon Bollig and goaltenders Alec Richards along with the Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard.
