Rockford, Ill.- A tradition in North American professional hockey is the recognition of the “3 Stars” of the game at the conclusion of each contest.
In 2012-13, Rockford IceHogs winger Jeremy Morin led all IceHogs skaters in 3 Stars point accumulation as he was named a top three star 18 times in 67 outings for Rockford. Overall, Morin was named the #1 Star of the game six times, second star nine and third star three times.
Morin’s total star points in 2012-13 was 39 with the breakdown of points as three points for the first star, two for the second and one for the third. The winger, who led Rockford with 30 goals, became the second non-goalie to lead the IceHogs in the “3 Stars” rankings since the team joined the AHL in 2007-08. Martin St. Pierre also led the team in 2007-08 with 39 “3 Stars” points.
Goalie Carter Hutton (32 points) had the second highest point total while Ben Smith was third with 28 points. AHL and IceHogs leading point scorer Brandon Pirri was fourth with 27 points.

2009-10: Corey Crawford-32 points
2008-09: Corey Crawford-37 points
2007-08: Martin St. Pierre-39 points
Hannu Toivonen in 2010-11 was named the #1 Star more times in a single season than any other skater as he was named the top star 11 times.
