Rockford notches second sellout of the season

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs President Ryan Washatka announced on Friday afternoon that the American Hockey League’s game on Saturday, Dec. 15 against the Quad City Flames is sold out.  The sellout is the second of the season for the IceHogs as they also played in front of a packed house on Nov. 2, the team’s first home game.  Only individual seats remain for Saturday’s contest.

On Saturday, the IceHogs along with Camelot World Travel, Insight Communications and BOB FM welcome Drake Bell to the MetroCentre.  Drake Bell is the star of Nickelodeon’s popular show Drake and Josh and he will sign autographs from 5:30-6:45 p.m. on Saturday.  The young star will also perform during the first intermission.

Also Saturday, the IceHogs will hold their Annual Teddy Bear Toss for charity.  Fans attending the contest can bring out a new Teddy Bear and after the IceHogs score their first goal, fans can toss the stuffed bears onto the ice.  The bears will then be collected and donated to local charities to benefit less fortunate children over the holidays.

Tickets still remain for tonight’s IceHogs game against the Rochester Americans.  For tickets to upcoming IceHogs home games, contact the MetroCentre Box Office at (815) 968-5222, on the web at www.centreevents.com or in person at the MetroCentre Box Office.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Dec. 22 vs. Milwaukee Admirals. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.  Rockford’s first ever meeting with the Admirals.  The first 1,000 fans ot the game will recieve an IceHogs Santa Hat courtesy of the Rockford Park District.
