Hogs move game to accommodate concert

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs Team President and General Manager Mark Bernard announced on Friday that the American Hockey League club has rescheduled its Saturday, Feb. 21 game against the San Antonio Rampage to Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 7:05 p.m.

The move was made to accommodate a Toby Keith concert at the Rockford MetroCentre. The original Fleece Blanket promotion schedule to be given away on Feb. 21 has also been rescheduled.  Fleece Blanket Night, sponsored by Lonnie’s Carpet Max, has been moved to Saturday, Jan. 17 when Rockford faces off against the Grand Rapids Griffins.

“We are very excited to have Toby Keith coming back to Rockford and very appreciative of the cooperation we have received from the American Hockey League, the San Antonio Rampage and our own Rockford IceHogs to allow us to get this concert in our building and we can’t thank them enough,” stated MetroCentre General Manager Corey Pearson. “We’d also like to thank the IceHogs fans for their understanding that we would not put this inconvenience on them unless it meant we would be able to bring a performer of this caliber to Rockford.”

“Losing a prime Saturday date is never ideal, but we are more than happy to help the MetroCentre bring this quality performer back to the city of Rockford,” said Bernard. “The last thing that we ever want to do is cause an inconvenience to our fans and we appreciate their understanding in this matter.”

Tickets and further information about the Toby Keith concert on Feb. 21 will be announced at a later date.
