ROCKFORD DROPS ALL THREE GAMES DURING WEEK 15

Hogs look to rebound with four games slated for Week 16

Week 15 Recap
Two goals isn’t enough to earn two points. In all three games during Week 15 of the 2008-09 American Hockey League regular season the Rockford IceHogs tallied just twice and lost all three contests.  The IceHogs won’t have a lot of time to think about it, however, as they will begin Week 16 on Monday afternoon at the MetroCentre against Grand Rapids.

Tuesday, Jan. 12: San Antonio 4 vs. Rockford 2
Friday, Jan. 16:  Chicago 3 vs. Rockford 2
Saturday, Jan. 17: Grand Rapids 3 vs. Rockford 2

Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Iowa, 7:05 p.m.

Bacon Bits:
 
-One week after going 2-0-0-1, Rockford went 0-3-0-0 in three games during Week 15


-The IceHogs have had three stretches in 2008-09 where they’ve gone five or more games without a regulation loss

-Rockford has also had three stretches of three or more games without a regulation win

-The IceHogs have lost a season-low three-straight games at the MetroCentre

-In Rockford’s first 34 games, the club lost eight man games due to injury or illness

-In the team’s last eight contests, the IceHogs have lost 23 man games due to injury or illness

-Winger Pascal Pelletier has chipped a point in seven of Rockford’s last 10 games totaling 6g-6a-12pts

-After playing three of four at home in Week 16, Rockford will embark on a season-long seven-game road swing and won’t play another home game until Feb. 13

-Rockford and Grand Rapids were whistled for an IceHogs season low eight combined penalty minutes

-Rockford’s four PIMs tied an IceHogs AHL single game record originally set on Feb. 1, 2008 at Peoria

Hot Hog Week 15:
With some key personnel out of the line-up, winger Pascal Pelletier has picked up the offensive slack for the IceHogs. Rockford’s winger chipped in three points in three games during Week 15 including a goal and an assist on Wednesday against San Antonio.  Overall, Pelletier has points in seven of his last 10 games.

Upcoming Games:
Monday, Jan. 19 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins.  The matinee begins at 2:05 p.m. The IceHogs and the Griffins face off for the second time in three days at the Rockford MetroCentre.  Monday is a Kids’ Day at the MetroCentre as the IceHogs special food prices with “Kidsessions” and prize giveaways for kids throughout the game.


Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Iowa Chops. Game time is 7:05 p.m.  Rockford returns to the road as they head to Des Moines to take on the Iowa Chops at the Wells Fargo Arena. The game is the third of five on the season in Des Moines and fifth of ten between the West Division foes.

Friday, Jan. 23 vs. Iowa Chops. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. The IceHogs open a two game home stand before a lengthy road trip when Iowa comes to town.  The IceHogs welcome Blackhawks legend Denis Savard to the game and the first 2,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs 10th Anniversary Canvas courtesy of Rasmussen College and Stanely Steemer.

Saturday, Jan. 24 vs. Milwaukee Admirals.  The game begins at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs conclude a stretch of eight of nine at the MetroCentre when the first place Admirals come to town.  The first 2,000 kids 14-and-under will receive an Mr. Potato Head courtesy of Mrs. Fisher’s Chips.


The IceHogs Broadcasting Network:
Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular and post-season games on the Hogs flagship radio station Rockford’s Voice, WNTA-AM 1330 and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380-AM, WTJK.  Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with AHL Live!  Visit the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the “click here to watch the AHL Live” icon, and for just $6, you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer.  Also, fans with Comcast Cable television can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season.  The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 30 minutes before the puck drops. Make sure to give your opinion during the Comcast Post-Game Call-In Show following each game at (815) 874-8255.

No Hog Talk Tonight At Cousin’s Bar and Grill:
Bud Light Hog Talk tonight due to the IceHogs game against the Grand Rapids Griffins.  The show, which is hosted by Jim Stone and features IceHogs head coach Bill Peters along with a pair of players each week, is on hiatus until Monday, Feb. 9 due to the All-Star break and a 12-day road trip.

Where to Watch the IceHogs:
IceHogs fans can now catch every IceHogs regular season game live on TV!  Every IceHogs home game during the 2008-09 season can be viewed on Comcast Cable Channel-57.  When the IceHogs are on the road log onto the IceHogs official team Web site, www.icehogs.com, and watch the IceHogs through AHL Live for just $6.  Fans can also stop out to the Sports Page, located on Broadway near Alpine Road in Rockford, and watch the IceHogs when the team is on the road.
