Rockford to play the next four away from the MetroCentre

Week 20 Recap
Home ice was not kind to the Rockford IceHogs during Week 20 of the American Hockey League regular season. Despite knocking off the first place Milwaukee Admirals on the road, Rockford dropped a pair of home games against two of the three bottom teams in the Western Conference.  Rockford will begin a stretch of eight of 10 games on the road on Wednesday.

Monday, Feb. 16: San Antonio 4 vs. Rockford 3
Thursday, Feb. 19: Rockford 4 at Milwaukee 1 

Friday, Feb. 20:  Lake Erie 3 vs. Rockford 1

Bacon Bits:

he IceHogs are 2-4-0-0 against the North Division this season at the Rockford MetroCentre

-Rockford is 4-0-0-1 against the North on the road with three more road games to play

-The Hogs have never beaten Lake Erie in regulation in five meetings all time (0-3-1-1)

-Hamilton is the only other team to hold that distinction (0-2-0-0 vs. Hamilton)

-Tim Brent’s hat trick on Thursday was Rockford’s fourth this season and fifth since joining the AHL

-He has (9g-5a) 14 points, including three three-point games, in 12 contests since coming back from injury on Jan. 29 

-The Hogs are 10-12-0-0 in second game of back-to-back, but 5-1-0-0 in third game of back-to-back-to-back games

-The Hogs play three games in three days only once more in 2008-09 but have six more sets of back-to-back games

Hot Hog Week 20:
Rockford’s team captain Tim Brent scored five of Rockford’s eight goals in three games during Week 20 and figured in seven of them overall. Brent opened the week with two goals and an assist in Rockford’s 4-3 loss against San Antonio.  Brent then notched his first hat-trick of the season on Thursday with an assist in Rockford’s 4-1 win at Milwaukee.  The centerman also posted a +4 plus/minus rating for the week.

Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Peoria Rivermen.  The game starts at 7 p.m.  Rockford opens up a four-game road swing on Wednesday against the Rivermen at Carver Arena.  The game is the fourth of five on the season in Peoria with the Rivermen and eighth of 10 overall on the season.

Friday, Feb. 27 at Houston Aeros. The puck drops at 7:35 p.m. Rockford heads south to Texas for the first time this season when they battle the Aeros at the Toyota Center.  The game is the first of three in Houston on the season and third of six between the West Division foes.

Saturday, Feb. 28 at San Antonio Rampage. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.  After three straight home games against San Antonio, the IceHogs travel to the AT&T Center for a road tilt with the Rampage. The game is the first of three in San Antonio on the season between the IceHogs and Rampage.

Hog Talk Returns Tonight At Cousin’s Bar and Grill:
Bud Light Hog Talk returns tonight at Cousin’s Bar and Grill.  Join Jim Stone from 6-7 p.m. at Cousin’s as he chats IceHogs hockey with Hogs Head Coach Bill Peters.  Tonight’s show will also feature goalie Joe Fallon and defenseman Joe Charlebois  Stop out to Cousin’s, located on the corner of East State St. and Perryville in Rockford, and take advantage of some great food and Bud Light specials.  If you can’t make it out to Cousin’s, tune into 1330 AM, WNTA.

IceHogs fans can now catch every IceHogs regular season game live on TV!  Every IceHogs home game during the 2008-09 season can be viewed on Comcast Cable Channel-57.  When the IceHogs are on the road log onto the IceHogs official team Web site,, and watch the IceHogs through AHL Live for just $6.  Fans can also stop out to the Sports Page, located on Broadway near Alpine Road in Rockford, and watch the IceHogs when the team is on the road.
