WINGER JACK SKILLE REASSIGNED TO ROCKFORD

01/11/2010 9:30 AM - Rockford, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned right wing Jack Skille to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

Skille, 22, has notched two points (1g-1a) in six games with the Blackhawks this season. He played 9:08 minutes in Sunday night’s game, recording one shot on goal.

The Madison, Wisconsin, native shares second on Rockford with 12 goals and ranks third with 26 points (12g, 14a) in 32 AHL tilts. Last week he was named to the PlanetUSA Team for the 2010 AHL All-Star Game, which takes place in Portland, Maine on January 18 and 19.

The seventh overall pick in the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Skille has appeared in 30 games with the Blackhawks over the last three seasons (2007-09) collecting eight points (5g, 3a) and five penalty minutes. Last season, he recorded one goal and five penalty minutes in eight regular-season games over two stints with the Blackhawks, which includes appearing in the squad’s first six regular-season matchups from Oct. 10-19.

Skille spent the majority of the 2008-09 season with Rockford, tying for second on the squad with a career-high 20 goals and finishing fourth with a career-best 45 points in just 58 games. Overall, Skille has racked up 52 goals, 61 assists, 113 points and 125 penalty minutes in 158 career AHL regular-season contests with the Norfolk Admirals (2007) and IceHogs (2007-10).

Next Home Game: Wednesday, Jan. 13 vs. Houston Aeros. Game time is 7:05 p.m.  It’s the second ever WIFR Sell Out Night when the IceHogs take on the Aeros for a fourth time this season and second in Rockford.

The IceHogs then return home on Friday, Jan. 15 to take on the Aeros at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,500 fans will pick up an IceHogs Youth Jersey courtesy of Feldco Windows and Doors.
