Two IceHogs’ coaches will go head-to-head at Doctors vs. Firefighters game

Rockford, lll.- The 2011-12 season will mark the fourth campaign in which Bill Peters and Ted Dent will be behind the bench for the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs. But on Saturday they’ll be coaching against each other.

The IceHogs coaches will be behind the bench on Saturday when Rockford area doctors take on Rockford area firefighters in the first ever Drs. Vs. Firefighters charity hockey game at Carlson Ice Arena.

The game begins at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $5, available at the door. Kids 10 and under are free and the night will feature a raffle that will include IceHogs tickets for the 2011-12 regular season, an autographed IceHogs stick, items from the Golf Shack, RBI’s and more.

Peters is slated to be behind the bench for the doctors while Dent will be directing the firefighters.  Hammy and Hammer will also be in attendance at Carlson entertaining and meeting fans.

Following the event, there will be a postgame party at RBI’s located just south of Carlson Ice Arena on Perryville Rd.

All proceeds from the event will benefit “Re-Cycle”, an organization that utilizes donations of adult sized bikes, bike parts and monies to provide transportation to residents of the Rockford Rescue Mission, allowing them to get to interviews, work and other life needs.
