Rockford, Ill. – The American Hockey League announced on Thursday that Rockford IceHogs forward Martin St. Pierre and defenseman Adam Clendening were selected to the 2013 Dunkin’ Donuts All-Star Classic.
Both St. Pierre and Clendening will represent the IceHogs and the Western Conference in Providence, R.I. for the Pepsi AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, Jan. 27 and the AHL All-Star Game on Monday, Jan. 28.
In his 9th professional season, St. Pierre will appear in his fifth AHL All-Star Classic. Earlier this season, the IceHogs captain became just the 83rd player in AHL history to notch 500 career AHL points and is currently two shy of reaching 600 career professional points. The Embrun, Ont. native also represented the IceHogs at the 2008 All-Star Classic in Binghamton, N.Y. where he accumulated three points, including a goal and a pair of assists.
Thus far on the campaign, St. Pierre has paced Rockford skaters with 33 points and holds a share of the team lead in assists, 19, which he shares with Clendening.
Clendening, 20, has appeared in 35 contests during his rookie season and ranks fourth on the IceHogs with 23 points, including four goals and 19 assists. The Niagara Falls, N.Y. native ranks tied for second in the AHL amongst rookie skaters in assists and ranks second amongst AHL rookies in power-play assists (11).

Beginning Friday and until Jan. 24, fans will have the opportunity to vote for the starting lineups for the 2013 AHL All-Star Game by visiting facebook.com/theahl and completing the official CCM AHL All-Star Fan Ballot. Voters will also be entered to win prizes of a team-signed 2013 AHL All-Star stick (two) and team-signed 2013 AHL All-Star commemorative programs (10).
The 2013 Dunkin’ Donuts AHL All-Star Classic in Providence will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League. Of the 597 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since the event was reinstated in 1995, more than 92 percent have competed in the National Hockey League, including Patrice Bergeron, Daniel Briere, Dustin Brown, Ryan Callahan, Mike Cammalleri, Zdeno Chara, Miikka Kiprusoff, Ryan Miller, Zach Parise, Tuukka Rask, Pekka Rinne, Bobby Ryan, Martin St. Louis, Cory Schneider, Jason Spezza and Eric Staal.
Next Home Game: Friday, Jan. 18 vs. Peoria Rivermen. Beginning at 7:05 p.m. the IceHogs and Rivermen meet in an Illinois Lottery Cup Matchup and for the first time since Nov. 21 at the BMO Harris Bank Center. It marks the fourth of twelve meetings between the two foes on the campaign. Also on Friday, one lucky fan will win a pair of Blackhawks tickets for the team's home opener on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
