Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward Ryan Hartman and defenseman Kyle Cumiskey from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Additionally, the team has reassigned forward Teuvo Teravainen (TAY-voh tair-uh-VIGH-nehn) to the IceHogs.
Hartman, a West Dundee, Ill., native, has 18 points (8G, 10A) in 47 games with the IceHogs in his professional debut; he shares third on the club with eight goals. Hartman was Chicago’s first-round pick (30th overall) in the 2013 National Hockey League Draft. The 20-year-old ranks third on Rockford with 81 penalty minutes and fifth with 94 shots on goal.
Cumiskey, 28, ranks third among IceHogs defensemen with 11 points (1G, 10A) in 38 games; he recorded a season-high three assists on Oct. 26 vs. Lake Erie. The Abbotsford, British Columbia, native skated in four preseason games with the Blackhawks. Cumiskey appeared in 45 games for MODO of the Swedish Hockey League last season, recording 28 points (4G, 24A). Originally Colorado’s seventh-round pick (222nd overall) in the 2005 NHL Draft, he has tallied 35 points (9G, 26A) in 132 career NHL games with the Avalanche.
Teravainen, 20, tallied four points (2G, 2A) in 15 games with Chicago this season. The Helsinki, Finland, native has recorded 23 points (6G, 17A) and 92 shots on goal in 33 games with Rockford this year; he registered his first career three-point outing (1G, 2A) on Dec. 28 vs. the Chicago Wolves. Chicago’s first-round pick (18th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, Teravainen tallied four shots on goal in three regular-season tilts with the Blackhawks last year.
