Rockford picks up veteran defenseman for future considerations
Rockford, Ill. - The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs announced Wednesday that they have acquired defenseman Keith Seabrook from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for future considerations.
The 26-year-old has played 51 games for the ECHL’s Stockton Thunder this season, leading the team in defenseman scoring with 27 points (7g-20a). Prior to his stint with Stockton, Seabrook played the 2012-13 season in Italy with Val Pusteria HC, picking up 18 points (8g-10a) in 18 games.
The 6-foot, 198-pound blueliner has played in 186-career AHL games with the Abbotsford Heat, Manitoba Moose and San Antonio Rampage, recording 82 points (18g-46a). A product of the BCHL, the NCAA and the WHL, Seabrook a second-round pick (No. 52 overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
A native of Delta, British Columbia, Seabrook is the brother of Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook.
