Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League announced today that they have signed forward Dane Walters to an AHL contract.
Walters, 25, signed a professional try-out with the IceHogs on Feb. 9. Since then, the St. Paul, Minn native has registered four points and a plus-3 rating in 10 games with Rockford this season. He notched his first career AHL goal and first multi-point effort in Rockford’s 3-2 win at Lake Erie on Feb. 21.
Prior to joining the IceHogs, Walters tallied nine goals and eight assists in 27 games with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye this season.
The second year skater spent four seasons at Western Michigan University prior to turning pro, compiling 83 points (39g-44a) in 144 career games.
