LABRIE RE-SIGNS, BLACKHAWKS ADD CARRICK

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have agreed to terms with forwards Sam Carrick and Pierre-Cedric Labrie on one-year contracts.

Carrick, 24, spent the majority of the 2015-16 season with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, scoring 16 goals and adding 18 assists in 52 games. He also played three games with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season after making his NHL debut against Chicago on Nov. 1, 2014. He went on to play 16 games with the Maple Leafs during the 2014-15 season where he scored one goal and notched one assist.

A member of the Marlies in each of the last four seasons, Carrick has 41 goals and 59 assists in 192 career AHL games. In 36 career Calder Cup Playoffs games, he has scored 17 points (6G, 11A). He was named alternate captain of the Marlies in each of the last three seasons.

The native of Stouffville, Ontario, was originally drafted by Toronto in the fifth round (144th overall pick) of the 2010 NHL Draft.

Labrie, 30, has spent the last two seasons with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Last season, he posted his AHL single-season career-high 20 goals in 66 games. He added 14 assists for Rockford last year. Labrie tallied nine goals and seven assists in 60 games with Rockford during the 2014-15 season. Over his nine-year AHL career, Labrie has 81 goals and 94 assists in 514 games with Manitoba, Peoria, Norfolk, Syracuse and Rockford. In 49 career Calder Cup Playoffs games, he has 12 points (5G, 7A) and was a member of the 2012 Norfolk Admirals Calder Cup Championship club.

After making his NHL debut in 2012, Labrie totaled five points (2G, 3A) in 46 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2012-2014. He was originally signed by the Blackhawks on July 1, 2014, and was re-signed by Chicago on June 18, 2015.
