Bacon Bits:
-The Rockford IceHogs suffered a second consecutive shutout via a 4-0 loss at Iowa on Tuesday (March 28) before rebounding to win back-to-back home games against the Texas Stars (March 31) and division-leading Grand Rapids Griffins (April 1). Friday's victory over the Stars also snapped a season-high six-game home losing streak spanning from Feb. 18 - March 25.

-Brandon Mashinter scored the IceHogs' first goal in three games with a power-play strike 35 seconds into the second period during Friday's victory against the Stars. The tally snapped Rockford's scoreless drought at 168 minutes and 52 seconds of ice time, dating to Tyler Motte's goal at 11:43 in the second period on March 23 at Grand Rapids.

-Mashinter also registered three assists the following game on April 1 vs. the Griffins for his second three-point effort of the 2016-17 season (a hat trick vs. Charlotte). Mashinter capped last week with 1g-3a-4pts and has now totaled eight points (4g, 4a) over his last nine games since Feb. 10.

-William Pelletier produced the first four-point game for any Rockford skater this season in just the second game of his professional career, tallying two goals and two assists in the Hogs' 4-1 win over Grand Rapids on April 1. Pelletier originally signed an ATO on March 30 just shortly after winning the 2016-17 NCAA Division III National Championship with the Norwich Cadets.

-Rookie Matheson Iacopelli scored his first AHL goal in his first professional game with the IceHogs, netting the game-winner at 9:21 in the third period of Rockford's 3-1 win vs. Texas on Friday. The 22 year-old spent each of the last two seasons skating for Western Michigan University and concluded the 2016-17 collegiate season ranked first among Broncos skaters and fourth in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference in goals (20 goals in 40 games).

-Lars Johansson turned away 29 of 30 shots against Texas on Friday for his 12th win of the season. With the effort, Johansson has posted a 1.17 GAA and .963 save percentage over his last three appearances at the BMO. The netminder has allowed just three goals on 81 shots over 154 minutes of ice time during that span (since March 3).

The Rockford IceHogs head on a three-game road trip with stops in Iowa (Thursday), Milwaukee (Saturday) and Chicago (Sunday) before returning home to the BMO Harris Bank Center on Wednesday, April 12 for a meeting with the Admirals.
