MILWAUKEE, WISC. – Frederick Allard converted on a turnover for the game-winning goal with just over five minutes remaining in the game, and both Emil Pettersson and Mark McNeill scored before the final horn to put the game out of reach and send the Milwaukee Admirals to a 4-1 victory over the Rockford IceHogs Friday night at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
Pettersson corralled a turnover in the IceHogs’ end, sent a pass over to Mark Zengerele who then flipped the puck to Allard waiting in front of Rockford's goal. Allard quickly wristed a shot five-hole past Glass to break a 1-1 tie and ignite what turned into a three-goal third period for the Admirals.
Pettersson lit the lamp for the second time and for his third point on the evening 17:05 into the final frame, before former IceHogs standout Mark McNeill potted an empty-net tally at 18:29 to seal the win.
Milwaukee netminder Anders Lindback stopped 24 of 25 pucks for the Admirals to earn the victory. He has now won seven of his eight appearances against the Hogs this season.
Cody Franson scored the IceHogs' goal of the game, one-timing a pass from Tyler Sikura at 15:16 in the second period to retie the contest at 1-1. Sikura collected a rebound from Lindback and was able to find Franson waiting uncontested for the equalizing tally. With his goal, Franson has now scored in each of his last two games.
Rockford netminder Jeff Glass stopped eight of 11 pucks in the loss.
