The Chicago Blackhawks have announced a crowd of 22,690 fans for their contest tonight against the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings, establishing a franchise record for the largest regular-season attended game. Tonight’s matchup eclipsed the previous regular-season mark of 22,644 set on March 8, 1997 against the Phoenix Coyotes at the United Center.
