Pelletier returned to Rockford, Bertram sent to Fresno
Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Thursday that defenseman James Wisniewski has been assigned to Rockford on long-term injury exception conditioning loan. Additionally, the Blackhawks have assigned winger Dan Bertram to Fresno (ECHL) and returned Pascal Pelletier to Rockford.
The Blackhawks blue-liner is recovering from a summer knee injury and has not skated in a game yet this season. In 2007-08 Wisniewski led Blackhawks defensemen and ranked second overall on the squad with a career-high 103 penalty minutes, while registering career bests with seven goals, 19 assists and 26 points in 68 matchups.
The Canton, Michigan, native has appeared in 137 games over the last three seasons with Chicago, racking up 43 points (11G, 32A) and 178 penalty minutes.
Pelletier leads Rockford with 13 goals and seven player-play goals. The winger is second on the IceHogs with 21 points in 23 games. He made his Chicago Blackhawks debut on Wednesday, playing 9:02 in 13 shifts. It was his seventh career NHL game.
Bertram has notched one goal and one assist in 18 games with the IceHogs this season. He recorded his first professional goal on Dec. 5 against Quad City.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at Chicago Wolves at 7:05 p.m. The first 2,000 will receive an IceHogs winter scarf courtesy of McDonald’s. Saturday is also the IceHogs Annual Teddy Bear Toss. Bring a new stuffed animal to the game and after the IceHogs score their first goal, fans can toss the stuffed animals onto the ice. The stuffed animals will be distributed to underprivileged children in the Rockford area.
