The 2012-13 season is Slavko's first with the Rockford IceHogs. Slavko is a Chicago native who graduated from Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy in 2007. In 2011, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. At GVSU, Slavko was the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the hockey, lacrosse and baseball teams.

After graduating, Slavko served as the number two play-by-play broadcaster for the Gary SouthShore RailCats baseball team of the American Association. He spent the summers of 2010 and 2011 as a Broadcast Intern for Comcast SportsNet Chicago, covering all of Chicago's pro sports teams, including the Blackhawks.

For as long as he can remember, Slavko has been an avid fan of the White Sox, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks. In his free time, he loves outdoor activities like fishing and hunting, playing various sports, and watching as many movies as possible.
